Founded by Jaldhini Patel and Jalpa Amin Co-Founder of Tectona Grandis Furniture, it blends over a decade of experience in custom textiles, floral design, and curated décor.
With Jaldhini’s creative insight and empathetic leadership, and Jalpa’s textile training from NIFT, they’ve built a platform where craft meets community development.
Launched in January 2025, Threads of Empowerment mentors women stepping into the world of craft many for the very first time. Through guided learning and patient support, the initiative fosters skill, dignity, and income turning hidden potential into proud, visible work.
Every piece tells a deeper story not only of material and design, but of growth, confidence, and care. Delicate ornamentations, from the fluid rhythm of chain stitches to the textured depth of knot and chevron work, infuse each textile with artistry and nuance, transforming fabric into a canvas of culture and expression. Beyond its crafted elegance, a portion of the proceeds quietly contributes toward learning access for children in underserved communities.

Wood Sourcing
Tectona Grandis Furniture begins every piece with carefully chosen teakwood timber, responsibly sourced from trusted plantations and certified suppliers. We look for grain, strength, and integrity, ensuring that the foundation of each creation is rooted in sustainability and quality.
We handpick every log for its maturity and natural oils that give teak its legendary strength. By sourcing only from legal and certified plantations, we ensure ethical practices and ecological responsibility. This careful beginning guarantees furniture that is both environmentally conscious and enduring in quality.

MISSION
Threads of Empowerment is committed to adding at least 10 new artisans each year by transforming manual work into skilled livelihoods. Through purposeful training, women-led inclusion, and the upcycling of a minimum 50% of surplus and waste textiles into soft furnishings, we aim to create dignified employment while building a circular, responsible textile ecosystem.
At Threads of Empowerment, our mission is to grow impact responsibly and with intention. Each year, we aim to train and support at least 10 new artisans, with a focused effort on enrolling more women through Threads of Empowerment, while creating complementary skill and employment opportunities for men within Tectona Grandis Furniture. Skill development is embedded across every stage of production. By upcycling a minimum of 50% of surplus and waste textiles into value-added soft furnishings, we reduce material waste, create dignified livelihoods, and channel growth back into continuous training. Through this integrated approach, we build a circular economy where employment, sustainability, and community development strengthen and sustain one another
Weaving
Where designs call for texture, our artisans weave cane, rope, or natural fibres into teakwood frames. The weaving adds lightness and tactility, creating a dialogue between solidity and softness that enriches each design.
This process is fully hand-done, giving every weave a character that machines cannot replicate. Patterns may vary slightly, adding to the uniqueness of each creation. Weaving brings balance , light, airy textures against the strength of solid teak frames.
Upholstery
Comfort finds its form in upholstery. Fabrics and leathers are hand-selected and tailored onto frames with exacting care, ensuring not only visual elegance but also everyday usability. The result is seating that feels as good as it looks.
Every stitch is guided by both precision and empathy, ensuring longevity as well as comfort. Our upholsterers refine edges, seams, and surfaces until they are seamless. The choice of fabric is not just about appearance but about how it feels in daily life.
Wood Finishing
Grains are revealed through careful sanding, layer by layer, until the surface breathes light. Oils and finishes are hand-rubbed into the wood, protecting it while enhancing its natural warmth and depth. It allows the purity of craft to reflect on the surface of handcrafted furniture.
Finishing is as much about patience as it is about skill , the teak is coaxed into its natural glow. Each finish not only protects but deepens the inherent beauty of the wood. Over time, the finish allows the furniture to age gracefully, carrying forward its timeless quality.
Polishing
A final polish seals the craft, enriching the tones of teak and adding a subtle sheen. This stage ensures each piece carries both refinement and resilience, ready to stand the test of time. It shines through the life cycle of a luxury wooden furniture.
The polish is applied in careful layers, giving the surface depth and quiet luminosity. It strengthens protection against wear while preserving natural beauty. This step is where the furniture’s elegance finds its final, lasting expression.
QC & Packaging
Before leaving our workshop, every piece undergoes meticulous quality checks. Dimensions, finishes, and joineries are inspected, so only flawless creations move forward. Packaging is done with utmost care, keeping sustainability and safe transit in mind.
Each product is verified by multiple pairs of eyes, ensuring no detail is overlooked. We use eco-conscious materials that safeguard the furniture during travel. This combination of precision and care guarantees that every piece arrives in pristine condition.
Dispatch
Once approved, each piece is dispatched to its new home. From workshop to doorstep, we ensure safe delivery so that what began as timber now arrives as a timeless piece of furniture, ready to become part of someone’s story.
Our logistics are as carefully managed as our craft, ensuring on-time and secure delivery. From protective layers to custom-fit crates, every step is designed for safety. This final ritual ensures our craftsmanship reaches its rightful place, a home to belong to.
